So your thinking about getting your door fitted with a remote-controlled opener?
No more heavy lifting, or getting out of your car to open the door on those rainy nights. Motorising your existing garage door has never been easier. An onsite inspection prior to installation is not required, although your garage door just needs to meet the following basic requirements.
All you need is a standard powerpoint, sufficient headroom or sideroom and your door is in good working condition. Does your door meet the requirements to be automated? Please see "Garage Door Automation Requirements" for more information.

Roller Door Automation
A Roller Door "rolls up into one big roll when it's open". An automatic opener can be fitted on either side, all you need is sufficient sideroom. "Sideroom" is firstly the distance between the door curtain edge and the inner part of the bracket which holds up the door. (minimum 20mm)
The second "sideroom" is the distance between the door curtain edge and the sidewall, the more you have here the better! (minimum 70mm)
Remote Controls
Roller door motors come with 2 remotes or upto 20+ remote controls
Sectional Doors Automation
These are sometimes called "Panel Lift" doors. Sectional or Panel doors "open up section by section" and end up hanging just below your ceiling. Sectional Door motors are mounted onto the ceiling about 3 metres back from the opening and use an aluminium track and pulley which is "connected" to your garage door with an arm, similar to a flying fox.
Tilt Doors Automation
Tilt doors are the "one piece" doors that "swing outwards" when open. Basically, you can not stand or park right outside of your garage when the door opens. Tilt doors are automated similar to Sectional Doors. We basically use the same kind of motors just setup a tad different.
When we arrive to repair your door or install your new Automatic Opener, it's important to leave us clear driveway access and at least 1 metre away from cars inside the garage, this will allow us good access to your garage door, and prevent any accidental damage to your vehicles with ladders, tools etc.

Quick Facts ...
It's well known that alot of companies just prefer to replace your whole door rather than repair it.
The top main key reasons they prefer to do this is because:
1. They can of course make more profit, as they will sell you the:
New Door - New Automatic Opener - Installation Costs - Removal Charges & Commission.
2. The Technicians & Salesmen are usually always contractors who get paid on commission,
so already they are looking to replace your door before they even arrive at your doorstep. $$$
3. Most companies send out technicians that just don't have the experience, training or knowledge
necessary to tackle those harder jobs (even simple jobs), so always ask any service company
"how much experience has the technician had that your sending to my house"
- then ask the technician that they send out and see if you get a different story !
You can tell if this the case in the first 5 mins. (if they hang around that long)
4. Many don't keep the older parts in stock that can repair your ageing, existing door and opener.
Last but not least, be weary of companies that book you in to their production line schedules and also charge by a time limit. (eg.15min blocks), they should be able to give you a more fixed price if they are genuine and experienced enough, as they should of tackled every situation and problem before.
By production line we mean they allocate a dozen jobs or more to each technician per day, add travel time, and you get somebody arriving at your house with only a fraction of the time necessary to repair your door properly, and even worse they still have the nerve to charge you for a 'complete service'.
If you don't receive a genuine service or repair, eg. your problem is not fixed on the spot, don't be afraid to delay payment and get a second opinion. You wouldn't be charged for just "looking" at something in a shop, so you shouldn't be charged for someone to just come and 'look" at your garage door.
We see this happen all the time, and have constant requests to fix up dodgy workmanship and incompleted Garage Door Repairs just so the company can request payment, which most people unfortunately have paid unknowingly in full.
That's why we always allocate plenty of time required for the job at hand, offer fixed price service and repairs where possible and this means we have no reason or need to charge you by the minute.
