  1.

Your garage door is in good working condition
We can automate garage doors that are up to 30 or 40 years old. Age does not matter, what matters is how well the door has been maintained. To be automated, a garage door needs to be in sufficient working condition. Please advise us honestly about the condition of your door. We are happy to perform minor servicing such as alignment and cleaning / silicon spraying the tracks to make the door travel smoother, this is free of charge. However, if major servicing or work is required, you will be advised in advance and an extra servicing fee applies.

There is a standard powerpoint within your garage
A standard powerpoint is needed, as close to the motor as possible. The motor itself has one of the longest cords on the market at 1.6 metres, although you can always run an extension lead to your nearest powerpoint, or we can re-cord the motor longer in black cable for a small charge. If you do not have a powerpoint, you can organise for an electrician prior, during or after the motor installation. We can also organise for an electrician for you. We can provide extension cords on request, although our quotes do not include powerpoints or any service relating to powerpoints

There is sufficient "headroom" or "sideroom".
For instruction on how to measure Roller Doors sideroom please ask if your not sure. Please let us know if you have any other obstructions in your garage such as shelving, cupboards, vehicles, a step roof (concrete or cement segments hanging down from ceiling) or pipes.
Also let us know if the door is housed in a boxed roof or canopy and would be difficult to remove. We generally require 600mm of room for standard installation, and 1 metre from general obstructions such as cupboards, shelves, bikes and vehicles.
Any large obstructions that are around the door that we are required to relocate may incur extra fees.

The garage door is within the size approximation you have given us.
Please be as accurate as you can when we ask for your door size. If you have some measurements ready, this would be extremely appreciated. Please let us know whether you think you have a standard single or a standard double garage. Also let us know if you have a high ceiling garage so we can prepare sufficient tools and accessories. If you tell us it's a standard single garage (2.5 metres wide) but your garage is in fact 4 metres wide then there will be additional costs. Our installers will advise of this additional cost and you can choose whether to go ahead or not. However, to help us provide you with better service please be as accurate as possible. We appreciate your time and effort.

There is an alternative access in case of a power failure.
Our motor comes with a manual cord which you can pull to put your garage door back into manual mode when there's a power failure or when there's any problems with the motor. However, to get to the manual cord (hanging off the motor) you will need to be able to get into the garage using an alternative access such as a side door or back door. If you don't have an alternative access we will need to install an External Emergency Key Release or a Battery Backup System. (this is an additional cost and optional, however we recommend that you have one installed if your garage door is the only entrance into your garage. You don't want to be locked out in a power cut.

When we arrive to install your Automatic Opener, we appreciate an empty driveway, this will give us good access to your garage door, and prevent any accidental damage to vehicles parked nearby.
